What better way to celebrate this wonderful weekend by kicking off our @autismmomsofkona official programs and making them available to the East Side/ Ka’u families! It’s been a slow, controlled organic growth and many members have been asking for this for a very long time. Thanks to the amazing moms that have finally formed to become the 25 families that are now a part of the Ava Sofia Foundation – Hilo Chapter. Today would not have been possible thanks to the gathering of skills, effort and love thanks to @annechan86, @shylalyn___ and @gensei Kaiulani and the rest of the families that made the trip across the island. Special thanks to our volunteers Melissa Dixon-Pennington, Autism Consulting Teacher West Hawaii with our Department of Education, and Caitlin Neal, Autism Consulting Teacher North Hawaii DOE Special Education, their wonderful husbands/partners and teenage volunteers, and our lovely staff at Dolphin Quest (third time’s a charm ✨🫶)!
